Army troops neutralize two CPP-NPA terrorists in Bukidnon clash

Units of the 2nd Scout Ranger Battalion (2SRBn) and the 8th Infantry Battalion (8IB) clashed in the hinterlands of Sitio Lamana, Barangay Kibalabag, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, neutralizing two CPP-NPA Terrorists (CNTs) and capturing two of their compatriots on January 29, 2022.

Army troops found the bodies of two dead CNTs: alias Draw, a member of Squad 1, Platoon Dario, Sub-Regional Committee 2, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC); and alias Paet, NCMRC’s Communication Staff. Two CNTs were apprehended, as well as three .45 caliber pistols, one 9mm pistol, five magazines, a cellphone, and medical supplies.

Seven civilians, including four youngsters, were rescued by troops after being threatened and extorted by CNTs.

Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., Army Commanding General, praised the troops of 2SRBn and 8IB for their achievements, promising to send much-needed resources and support to Army units in their final push to ensure a secure environment for the May 2022 elections.
