Operating forces of Joint Task Force Peacock through the JTG-South/MBLT-4 together with 1st PPMFC and intel operatives of JITU-S and NISG-West recovered two high-powered firearms of the CTG during a Focus Military Operations (FMO) in Brooke’s Point, Palawan on February 6, 2022.
On Sunday morning, February 6, 2022, operating forces recovered war materials hidden by former CTG members in hinterland of Sitio Inababoy, Brgy Aribungos, Brooke’s Point, Palawan. Recovered are the following: one M14 Rifle; one M16 rifle; one chest rig; one bandolier; assorted propaganda leaflets; one sweatshirt w/ “NPA” marking; two solar panels; two batteries wet cell (12 volts); one AVR; and one power bank.
BGEN LARIDA, Commander of 3rd Marine Brigade, stated that the recovered high-powered firearms and other war materials were part of the CTG inventory of armaments hidden by former members of this terrorist group in various areas in Palawan following the sustained military operations by the Philippine Marines against the remnants of Bienvenido Vallever Command.
“For the past months, our Brigade continued to recover CTG war materials in various parts of Northern Palawan. Recently, a tip-off from reliable sources brought us to Brooke’s Point, which resulted in this recovery. The JTF Peacock will not stop its relentless military operations until we finally put an end to the communist armed conflict in the Province of Palawan,” BGEN LARIDA added.
BGEN LARIDA PN(M) once again recognized the collective effort of the AFP joint forces and member agencies of the Palawan Provincial Task Force ELCAC for the government’s successes against the Communist Terrorist Group in the province.
