CDR MARK B BUHION, the newly installed Commanding Officer of 5th Patrol Boat Division, headed the transport and relief operations in Getafe, Bohol. A total of 200 drinking bottles and 190 food packs were received by Mr. Roldan Salabao, Chairman, Alumar Seaweeds Farmers Association (ASFA) intended for the typhoon-hit families in the said island barangay. Navy reservists from 511th Naval Reserve Squadron and 821st Marine Corps (Res) also assisted in the said relief operations.

The continuous efforts of Philippine Navy in the Visayas are effectively accomplished through close coordination and integration with the LGAs and LGUs in order to have an efficient identification of their constituents and better system of distribution. The activity was conducted in adherence to the IATF protocols on health and safety.

The Visayas Command, through Naval Forces Central, is one with the LGUs and partner stakeholders in bringing prompt, responsive, and effective assistance to the communities affected by the onslaught of Typhoon Odette.
