Thirty-eight individuals benefitted from the Army’s 7th Infantry Division-led livelihood project following their first harvest of mushrooms in Barangay Lawak Langka, Mangatarem, Pangasinan last March 5, 2022.

The Community Support Program (CSP) team of the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion, Armor Division, Philippine Army facilitated the Mushroom Production Project in partnership with the Barangay Task Force ELCAC.

“This livelihood project aims to give an alternative source of livelihood and increase their daily income. Your Army is committed to supporting this kind of initiative as part of our sustainment efforts in formerly Communist-infiltrated communities,” said Maj. Gen Andrew D. Costelo, Commander of the 7th Infantry Division.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines has been doing combat and non-combat activities in support of the mandate of the NTF-ELCAC to finally put closure to the more than five decades of communist insurgency in the country.
