Philippine Air Force visits troops in Pag-asa Island

The Commanding General, Philippine Air Force Lt. Gen. Connor Anthony D. Canlas Sr. visited the deployed troops in Pag-Asa Island on March 10, 2022.

In the spirit of his Command Framework LIPAD PAF, People capability and well being is a priority, despite the marginal weather over the Kalayaan Island Group, the CG, PAF with his Staff pushed for the scheduled hop on the island.

These visits by the Major Services Commanders are morale boosters for the troops, especially on remote outpost such as Pag-asa Island, known to be the last frontier of the Western Philippines.

Another of the CG,PAF’s Command Trust is to make sure infrastructures and bases are in order, he was also there to inspect all the AFP projects that was handled and built by the Philippine Air Force.

Part of the scheduled visit is his attendance to the celebration of the 49th Founding Anniversary of the Tactical Operations Wing West (TOW WEST) in Antonio Bautista Air Base in Puerto Princesa Palawan.

The CG, PAF was the guest of honor wherein he recognized the vital role of TOW WEST in securing our Western Frontier for peace and development.

LTGEN CANLAS also congratulated the TOW WEST’s 49 years of existence greatly performing Territorial Defense, Internal Security Operations, Support to National Development, and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response in Palawan.

“TOW WEST has manifested its unsullied devotion to its duty in the service not only to Palaweños but for the Filipino nation.”

Safety and health protocols were observed during the ceremony.
