Philippine Navy rescue fishermen from capsized boat in Sulu

Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM) Special CAFGU Auxilliary (SCAA) rescued a fisherman whose boat capsized in the vicinity of Bolod Island, Sulu on March 11, 2022.

According to NFWM PAO, the Command’s Operation Center received a telephone call from Ms. Jennifer Lorenzo of ZC Victory Fishing Corporation relaying a maritime incident involving a fishing banca marked “Key Paradise” and a passenger vessel. One of the fishermen has been rescued and the second was still missing.

Naval Task Group Sulu based at the Headquarters 4th Marine Brigade (4MBDE) in Luuk, Sulu immediately deployed one of its vessels BRP Florencio Inigo (PC-393) to conduct a follow-up search and rescue operations for the missing fisherman.

The rescued individual was identified as Shaider Ismael, 32 y/o, while his brother Maser Ismael, 20 y/o is still missing. Both are residing in Maluso, Basilan Province.
