Continuous efforts by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) prompted 36 NPA members to surrender on March 18, 2022, in Brgy. Tibpuan, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat.

The former rebels voluntarily presented themselves to the members of the 37th Infantry Battalion (37IB) under the 6th Infantry Division, Philippine Army.

The surrenderees likewise turned in 25 assorted firearms including M16 and M14 rifles, SMGs, shotguns, revolvers, and pistols. They have also handed over one hand grenade.

The personalities along with the seized firearms were temporarily held at the Headquarters, 37th IB for an interview and proper disposition.

The recent increase in surrenders and seizure of firearms indicate the Communist Terrorist Group’s dwindling strength as the AFP continues its relentless operations with the help of the community and other stakeholders.
