Decades of stigma and conflict finally comes to an end in Panamao, Sulu as the three remaining under less influence barangays of threat groups are now cleared.
This declaration is anchored in the Community Support Program (CSP), a series of initiatives for the barangays with key indicators relating to sustainability of the absence of threat groups in the concerned barangays plus sustainable collaborative projects for all stakeholders. The lead effort is by the Marine (Striking) Battalion Landing Team-7 (MBLT-7) with their Commanding Officer, Lt. Col. John Paul S. Jacla PN(M)(GSC).
The clearance for the three barangays became an emotional moment for Barangays Tinah, Pugad Manaul, and Bulangsih. The official statement and acknowledgement of Barangays Cleared from Threat Groups is from the ACET Chairman of the CSP Evaluation Team as well as Deputy Brigade Commander Col. Jonathan C. Gabor PN(M)(GSC) of the 4th Marine Brigade. The clearance came at an opportune time for the barangays where peace and development for the general municipality has long been overdue and well deserved.
Barangay officials and town Mayor Al-frazier S. Abdurajak expressed their pride and felt the celebratory significance of the combined efforts of all stakeholders especially by MBLT-7.
These Marines walked the extra mile for their Battalion. Indeed, these men raised the bar for Civil Military Operation Activities. Their dedication can only be surpassed by their continued dynamism, desire to serve and unbending discipline.
