The Philippine Army (PA) and the U.S. Army Pacific troops conducted a combined call-for-fire exercise on April 5, 2022 at the 7th Field Artillery Battalion Gunnery Range, Barangay Palale, General Tinio, Nueva Ecija.

The Bravo Company of the PA’s 92nd Infantry Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division and the 6th Mechanized Battalion of Armor Division together with the U.S. Army Pacific’s 3-7 Field Artillery Battalion, 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team conducted the call for fire drill exercise using both digital and degraded target locations. The exercise is geared at deepening interoperability between both forces and building confidence in infantry leaders to coordinate and employ indirect fire assets.

The exercise is part of Balikatan’s Combined Interoperability Exercises (CIOE) between the Philippine Army and the USARPAC, jointly called the CARFOR. Balikatan provides broad training opportunities to deepen interoperability and capabilities of both the Philippine and the U.S. armed forces across a spectrum of military operations. — PA
