Army troops from the 25th Infantry Battalion, 10th Infantry Division, hand-in-hand with other government agencies, launched rescue efforts for families affected by floods and landslides caused by torrential rains in Monkayo, Davao de Oro and Trento, Agusan del Sur on April 5, 2022.
Army troops together with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices, Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP), Philippine National Police (PNP) and Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs) evacuated affected residents from their houses. They also launched continuous search and rescue in outlying barangays that were also affected by torrential rains dumped by the low pressure area.
The Philippine Army is continuously enhancing the individual skills of soldiers and unit capabilities to bolster the organization’s humanitarian assistance and disaster response efforts. — PA
