Operating troops of the 76th Infantry Battalion (76IB), 2nd Infantry Battalion and their police counterparts captured CNT war materiel following a ten-minute firefight at Sitio Salad, Barangay Malpalon, Calintaan, Occidental Mindoro.
The 76IB troops and policemen captured an M16 rifle, an M14 Rifle, two magazines for M16 loaded with 18 rounds, a magazine for M14 loaded with 18 rounds, two improvised explosive devices, a hand grenade, a rifle grenade, 100 meters of detonating wire, a radio charger, a bandolier, communication equipment, an Apple laptop, subversive documents and other personal items.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., lauded 76IB troops and their police counterparts for the massive arms haul that would deny the communists-terrorists the means to commit atrocities and extortion activities during the election season.
