Soldiers from the 302nd Infantry ‘ACHIEVER’ Brigade, Philippine Army successfully availed the Local Absentee Voting (LAV) for 2022 Local and National Elections.
The members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, government officials and employees, members of the PNP are authorized by the COMELEC to perform the local absentee voting as most of them will perform election-related duties and are assigned in areas where they are not registered to vote.
A total of 554 soldiers under 302nd AOR are expected to cast their vote. Through LAV, said individuals have casted their votes and were able to freely exercise their rights of suffrage.
Meanwhile, BGen Leonardo I Peña, Commander 302nd Infantry Brigade, emphasized, “We thank COMELEC for giving us the chance to exercise our right to suffrage.”
“I encourage all the Achiever troopers who had filed for local absentee voting applications to exercise their right to suffrage as this is one of their duties for the country,” 302nd Commander BGen Leonardo I. Peña added.
He also reminded every troop that they are prohibited from engaging in partisan politics.
