4 NPAs surrendered, yielded firearms in Davao de Oro

Troops from the 66th Infantry Battalion under the 701st Infantry Brigade facilitated the surrender of four NPA members, including two minors, and seized two high-powered firearms on April 27, 2022 at Brgy. Coronobe, Maragusan, Davao de Oro.

The operating troops discovered the location of the NPA members where they voluntarily surrendered. The surrenderers then guided the troops to the two M16 which they hid in New Bataan, Davao de Oro. The two minors were promptly reported to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development of New Bataan for appropriate action.

The Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo s. Brawner Jr. commended the troops for their prompt action leading to the surrender of the NPA members and recovery of firearms that may harm the local populace. He also recognized their efforts in leading the minor surrenderers to the authorities to receive proper counsel.
