Army, PNP capture CNT leader, seize war materiel in Davao Oriental

Combined elements from the 10th Infantry “Agila” Division (10ID) and Philippine National Police recovered six firearms and an anti-personnel mine following the capture of a CPP-NPA Terrorist (CNT) in Barangay Simulao, Boston, Davao Oriental on May 12, 2022.

The captured CNT, identified as Cayetano Santos, Jr., alias “Juning”, squad leader who operates under NPA’s Regional Operations Command and Regional Headquarters, yielded a carbine rifle, an M1 garand rifle, a USAS-12 shotgun, one RPG-2 grenade launcher, one KG-9 sub-machine gun, one M16 rifle and an anti-personnel mine.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., lauded 10ID troops and their police counterparts for capturing the CNT leader. The Army Chief likewise commended them for curbing the communists-terrorists’ capability to launch attacks and atrocities with the capture of the war materiel. — PA
