CTG leader surrender to Philippine Army in Mountain Province

The Commander of the 7th Infantry (KAUGNAY) Division, Philippine Army MGEN Andrew D. Costelo PA, welcomed the surrender of a Squad Uno Team leader of Komiteng Larangang Guerrilla – Abra-Mt.Province-Ilocos Sur (KLG-AMPIS) on May 21, 2022.

MGEN Costelo identified the NPA personality as Jerome Calsiyao alias “Dennis” a native of Brgy. Basao, Tinglayan, Kalinga. The said NPA leader surrendered with his firearms in possession, which were identified as one 5.56mm M16A1 rifle and one Cal .30 M1 Carbine.

Alias Dennis’ surrender was facilitated by the troops of the 69th Infantry (COUGAR) Battalion, Philippine Army, spearheaded by LTC Marcelo Valdez Jr. and some personnel from 1st Mountain Province PMFC.

“We welcome the decision of alias Dennis to surrender to the authorities. There are benefits under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) that he can avail to help him live a new life. Our call remains for those KLG-AMPIS members to surrender and give peace a chance,” said MGen Costelo.

In connection to this concession, it can be remembered that last May 16, a member of KLG-AMPIS identified as alias “Lito” a resident of Brgy. Kili, Tubo, Abra also surrendered to 69IB with one Elisco M16A1 rifle, one Garand rifle, one short magazine, and nine 5.56mm live ammunition. — PA
