The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) seized an AK47 rifle after an encounter with the Communist NPA Terrorists (CNTs) in Agusan del Norte on May 28, 2022.
While on security operations, troops of the 29th Infantry Battalion of the 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army encountered about eight members of the terrorists New People’s Army (NPAs) in Barangay Libas, Jabonga, Agusan del Norte. The firefight lasted for more than 15 minutes after which the rebels fled from the encounter site.
No reported casualties from both sides but the operating troops seized an AK47 rifle from the enemies.
The 29IB conducted pursuit operations to search and capture the fleeing terrorists.
The AFP intensified its focused military operations against the communist terrorist group to defeat them and prevent their recovery efforts. — AFP
