54IB troops rescues a wounded CTG Vice Commander

Army operating troops from the 54th Infantry “Magilas” Battalion under the operational control of 7th Infantry “Kaugnay” Division, rescued a wounded Vice Commander of the Weakened Guerrilla Front – Abra-Mt. Province-Ilocos Sur (WGF-AMPIS) last May 26, 2022 in Brgy. Namal, Asipulo, Ifugao.

The CTG leader known as “Junel” was one of the casualties of the armed encounter following the 54IB’s continuous focused military operations on May 23 to 24, 2002 at Sitio Timmapaya, Brgy. Namal, Asipulo, Ifugao. It was found out that the CTG leader was wounded on his hips prompting the 54IB troops to immediately brought him to Panopdopan District Hospital for immediate medical treatment.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., lauded the 54IB troops on their efforts of ending the local communist armed conflict in their area of operation. He likewise commended the troops for their strict adherence and observance to Human Rights as well as the provisions of the International Humanitarian Law. — PA
