AFP troops discover arms cache in Tarlac

Troops of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) discovered a cache of high-powered firearms and ammunition hidden by communist terrorist New People’s Army (NPA) in Tarlac on Monday, May 30, 2022.

Elements of the Philippine Army’s 3rd Mechanized Battalion under the 7th Infantry Division found the arms cache in Brgy. Burgos, San Jose, Tarlac.

They seized a Galil rifle, two M16 rifles, M203 grenade launcher, a shotgun, a long magazine for the Galil, four short magazines for M16 rifle, 71 pieces of 5.56mm ammunition and 18 pieces of 40mm grenade launcher ammunition.

The war materiel belong to the NPA’s Komiteng Larangang Guerrilla-Tarlac-Zambales.
Troops are now processing the seized items for proper documentation and disposition. — AFP
