The Philippine Air Force started the conduct of wide blood-letting activity with a kick off ceremony on May 31, 2022 at the Villamor Air Base, Pasay City.
The activity is being conducted at all PAF Bases and Stations in partnership with the different DOH-accredited medical institutions that includes Philippine Red Cross in Pasay City, Lipa City, Pampanga, Tarlac City, Puerto Princesa City, Zamboanga City, Lucena City; as well as Victoriano Luna Medical Center in Quezon City; Jose B Lingad Memorial Hospital in San Fernando, Pampanga; Medical City Hospital in Clarkfield Pampanga; Rural Health Unit in Tarlac, Department of Health Region 7 in Cebu City; Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center Philippine in San Fernando, La Union; and Davao Blood Bank in Davao City.
The blood-letting will carry over until June 15, 2022 with the objective of having at least 280,000 cubic centimeters (CCs) of blood.
Meanwhile, during the first day of the activity, the PAF have generated a total of 53,550 CC of blood from 119 successful donors at the VAB.
The PAF personnel donated blood voluntarily to share their lives to their countrymen who are in-need of blood. The conduct of such activity aims to support community healthcare efforts in collaboration with PAF’s medical stakeholders. — PAF
