The Army’s 701st Infantry Brigade, under the operational control of the 10th Infantry Division; the 67th Infantry Battalion; and, their police counterparts captured high-powered firearms hidden by CPP-NPA Terrorists (CNTs) at the hinterlands of Sitio Bayong, Barangay Taytayan, Cateel, Davao Oriental on June 7, 2022.

Combined Army and police elements recovered two AK47 rifles and a Cal .357 U.S. Smith and Wesson revolver. Troops credited the operation’s success on the revelation of alias “Beno” a former CNT who laid down his arms last month.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., lauded the Army units and their police counterparts for the recovery of the aforementioned firearms that could be used by CNTs to sow terror and commit atrocities in communities. The Army Chief vowed to push down ample resources to all ground units to bolster their mission accomplishment. — PA
