Five members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters’ (BIFF) Karialan faction yielded and turned-in their firearms to 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade (1st Mech Inf Bde) and 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion (1st Mech Inf Bn) at Barangay Kalandagan, Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat on June 7, 2022.
The surrenderees turned-in their firearms which include a US 57mm recoilless rifle, an M16 rifle, a Cal 50 barrett and a rocket-propelled grenade with ammunition.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., lauded the 1st Mech Inf Bde and 1st Mech Inf Bn, which are both under Joint Task Force Central, for the surrender of the five BIFF members and turned-in of high powered firearms.
