AFP troops discover high-powered firearms in Batangas

Elements from the Philippine Army’s 85th Infantry Battalion and 59th Infantry Battalion discovered an arms cache of high-powered firearms while conducting intelligence operations at Sitio Pinagkawaran, Brgy. Sapangan, San Juan, Batangas, on Friday, June 10, 2022.

Seized were one M14 and one Carbine rifles with loaded magazines.

The war materiel’s location was revealed by two former CNTs who previously surrendered to government forces.

Operating troops coordinated with the San Juan Municipal Police Station in Batangas for proper documentation of the confiscated firearms.

Meanwhile, the authorities are facilitating the enrollment of the surrenderers into the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program. — AFP
