Joint elements from the Philippine Army’s 70th Infantry Battalion and police operatives discovered an arms cache of high-powered firearms hidden by Communist New People’s Army Terrorists (CNTs) in Brgy Carmencita, Floridablanca, Pampanga on Sunday, June 12, 2022.

Among the discovered items were M16 and M653 rifles with loaded magazines, rifle grenades, cellphones, blasting caps, backpacks, rain boats, several medical supplies and paraphernalia, and CNT’s personal belongings.

Accordingly, the discovered firearms were from the weakened Guerrilla Front-West, South Party Committee as confirmed by the Joint Task Group Agila after a concerned citizen tipped off the location of the war materiel.

The firearms and other discovered items were brought to the 70th Infantry Battalion Headquarters in Pampanga for proper disposition. — PA
