Military troops of the Joint Task Force Sulu, 1103rd Infantry “Kalis” Brigade, along with the Sulu Provincial Tourism Office, and Municipal Task Force to End Local Armed Conflict (MTF-ELAC), launched the Bud Patikul View Deck and Let’s Go WISER internet services on June 15, 2022 in Patikul, Sulu.

The installation of internet connectivity is to provide the Sulu community a faster access to data and communications especially for its growing tourism capability. The view deck of Patikul Hill or known as Bud Patikul is owned by Barangays Patikul Higad, Sandah, Tandu Bagua, and Liang. The location is a former Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) area that was turned into a Marine Battalion camp. The view deck is presently safeguarded by the 6th Special Forces “Lionheart” Battalion.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., commended the Kalis Brigade on their persistent community support operations and stakeholder engagements which contributed to the developing peace and order in the province of Sulu. — PA
