Government forces of the 3rd Mechanized Battalion under the operational control of the Joint Task Force, and the Zambales Police Office unearth an arms cache of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) at Sitio Gued-Gued, Brgy. Palis, Botolan, Zambales in the afternoon of June 26, 2022.
In a statement, Lt. Gen. Ernesto Torres Jr., Commander of the Northern Luzon Command, revealed that following the tip provided by a concerned citizen in the area, the troops immediately responded and discovered the terrorist arms cache in the vicinity wherein they discovered various war materiels.
Meanwhile, Major General Andrew Costelo, Commander of Joint Task Force Kaugnay, praised the troops’ consecutive successes in their area of operations and at the same time expressed his gratitude to the people for their active participation in sustaining and ensuring peace in this area.
Lt. Gen. Torres stated that “the continuous discovery of CTG arms caches is a way to keep them from slipping through the cracks and performing hostile attacks in the north and central Luzon. This only manifests the nearing end for the CTGs in our area of operations.”
