Nineteen Communist NPA Terrorists (CNT) from Central Negros Front 2 (CN2) surrendered to the 94th Infantry Battalion in Brgy. Tambo, Ayungon Negros Oriental on July 2, 2022.

Accordingly, they were deceived by their leaders on the false promises and propaganda just to control them and continue the senseless armed struggle at the cost of their time, effort, and dreams to have a better life. This prompted them to surrender to the folds of the law and join the mainstream society, with the hope of peaceful life together with their families.

Ltc. Van Donald L. Almonte, the 94IB Commander, said that their surrender is a clear manifestation that the Communist ideology is no longer accepted by the CNT members.

The relentless efforts of 94IB to educate and inform the far flung villagers about the deception used by the Communist NPA Terrorist in their recruitment will continue.

“The 94IB is very eager to help the rebels in their return to their families to start a new form of life. We will not be lenient to the CNTs who still continue to deceive our people. Your 94IB is always on the watch,” Ltc. Almonte said.

The Army leadership lauded the 94IB on their continuous efforts in the conduct of Focus Military Operations and information dissemination in their area of operations which resulted to the surrender of 19 CNTs in Negros Oriental. — PA
