Initiatives to restore development, accessibility, and security were launched by the Philippine Army in conflict-affected areas of Talipao, Sulu recently.

Upper Sinumaan and Brgy. Lower Sinumaan are now connected by at least a seven-kilometer access road that was initially built within three weeks as part of the “Sinumaan Road Network,” which was formally opened on July 6, 2022.

The project is a part of the Community Support Program efforts of the 6th Special Forces Company, 2nd Special Forces Batallion under the 1011st Infantry Brigade.

The said initiative is in partnership with the 545th Engineer Battalion and the Talipao Municipal Task Force to End Local Armed; the Local Government of Sulu, through the Provincial Task Force to End Local Armed Conflict (PTF-ELAC) who provided 10,000 liters of fuel.

Thanks to Mr. Ron Villarosa, Team Special Forces, other initiatives like giving Sitio Timpuad’s residents galvanized roofs, water hoses, and seedlings; converting Sitio Larang’s battlegrounds into a playground for kids; and constructing a peace formation and learning center for peace education were made possible.
