6ID activates Task Group ‘Bangis’

The 6th Infantry “Kampilan” Division activated the new Task Group “Bangis” to beef up security presence in its area of responsibility and held its send-off ceremony last July 11, 2022 at Camp Siongco, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.

Task Group “Bangis” will be under the operational control of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade and its task is to dismantle the remaining Communist Terrorist Group Guerilla Front Musa and its vertical forces in the area of South Cotabato, Saranggani and Sultan Kudarat.

Major General Roberto Capulong, 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division Commander, installed Lt. Col. Michael Angelo Candole being the Battalion Commander. Despite it is being constituted as ad hoc, the newly created task group will fulfill the commitment of 6ID to the Commander-in-Chief, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in the campaign against communist terrorist group.

Lt. Col. Candole expressed his gratitude for being given the opportunity to lead the probationary battalion and pledged to live up to the expectations that come with his position.

“This will significantly contribute to our continuous quest for long lasting peace, and sustainable development in South and Central Mindanao”, says 6ID Commander.

“The beginning may be the hardest part, but with your enthusiasm, dedication and commitment, I am confident that each one of you will bring glory and victory to Kampilan Division by doing your job well to gain exponential results,” he added, addressing the new 6ID soldiers.

The Army leadership commended the Kampilan Division on the activation of the Task Group “Bangis” which will surely help in the relentless military operations to ensure long-lasting peace and sustainable development in South and Central Mindanao. — PA
