9 CNTs surrender to Philippine Army’s 1IB in Quezon province

Nine CPP-NPA Terrorists (CNTs) voluntarily surrendered to the 1st Infantry “Always First” Battalion, under the operational control of the 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division on July 13, 2022 at Brgy. Tongohin, Infanta, Quezon.

The CNT rebels were members of Kilusang Larangang Gerilya (KLG) NARCISO of the sub-regional military area 4A (SRMA 4A) under the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee (STRPC). They brought with them one M16 assault rifle with two magazines, one shotgun, one M1 Garand rifle and one cal.45 pistol with a magazine as well as numerous ammunition of the aforementioned armaments.

“Ang tuloy-tuloy na pagsuko ng mga teroristang CPP-NPA-NDF sa ating pamahalaan ay patunay lamang sa mga kahirapang kanilang nararanasan sa terorismong grupo at sa patuloy na paghina ng kanilang pwersa,” said Lt. Col. Danilo V. Escandor.

The Army leadership lauded the 1IB troops for their relentless military operations which resulted in the surrender of 9 CNTs in Infanta, Quezon.
