With the commencement of the sea phase of the ongoing Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise, the embarked Agusta Westland 109 helicopter of BRP Antonio Luna FF151 – PF participated in the conduct of the Combined Anti-Submarine Warfare Exercise (CASEX) on Wednesday, July 14, 2022.
During this exercise, personnel onboard a surface or air asset were tasked and trained to recognize a submarine maneuvering broached and submerged at periscope depth.
The Naval Air Wing – Philippine Fleet AW109 helicopter is among the more than 170 aircrafts currently participating in RIMPAC in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California.
