MASA Exercise 2022 concludes

The bilateral Philippine-US Marine Corps Aviation Support Activities 2022 Exercise concluded on July 22 following two months of joint interoperability activities between the Philippine Marine Corps and U.S. Marine Corps held in select provinces in the Philippines.

MASA 2022, which aims to bolster the nations’ forces in ensuring stability in the Indo-Pacific region, had exercises in Ilocos Norte, Palawan, Zambales, Subic, and Taguig. These consisted of activities including coastal defense operations, aeromedical evacuation drills, and execution of other procedures in aviation support.

MASA is a semiannual US-Philippine military exercise that focuses on mutual defense, counterterrorism, and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. This year’s iteration which began on June 6 also saw the participation of the Special Operations Wing of the Philippine Air Force. — PN
