The Task Group Bangis under the operational control of the 6th Infantry “Kampilan” Division, deployed female soldiers to support the peace operations in Sitio Datal Basak, Brgy. Kablacan, Maasim, Sarangani on July 30, 2022.
The joint government troops of the 38th Infantry “We Clear” Battalion and the Philippine National Police, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) and stakeholders, conducted a medical and outreach program that reached more than a hundred indigent beneficiaries in Sarangani.
Likewise, the Kampilan troops believed in the ability of the female troops to be peace advocates, especially for the humanitarian endeavors of the Army in the far-flung areas. They included the female soldiers for they could help in winning the hearts and minds of the local people at the grassroots level.
The Army leadership lauded the proactive Gender and Development (GAD) program of the Task Group Bangis which contributed to the inclusion of female troops in the peace operations of 6ID in Sarangani. — PA
