12 LTG combatants surrender in Maguindanao

Army operating troops of the 6th Infantry “Redskin” Battalion and 2nd Mechanized Infantry “Makasag” Battalion, both under the 601st Infantry “Unifier” Brigade, facilitated the voluntary surrender of 12 members of the Local Terrorist Group on August 12 and 13, 2022 at Datu Piang and Datu Angal Midtimbang, Maguindanao.

The LTG surrenderees were three finance supporters, one member of Dawlah Islamiya Turaife Group, and one member of BIFF – Karialan Faction who brought their three M14 rifles to 6IB.

On the other hand, another nine BIFF members brought six firearms which are composed of one M14 rifle, one Garand rifle, one cal.45 pistol, one M79 grenade launcher, one Barret cal.50, and one M16 rifle to the 2nd Mech Battalion.

The Army leadership lauded the 6IB and 2nd Mech Battalion on their collaborative efforts which resulted in the voluntary surrender of the 12 LTGs in Maguindanao. — PA
