9 LTG Members Surrender to 6th ID Commander

Nine members of the outlawed local terrorist group (LTG) Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) laid down their arms and surrendered to Major General Juvymax R. Uy, Commander of 6th Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Central, during the culmination program of the 33rd founding anniversary of Kampilan Division on October 24, 2020.

These former rebels under the Bungos faction were also presented to the Commanding General of Philippine Army, Lt. General Cirilito Sobejana; WestMinCom Commander Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan Jr. and 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Jesus Rico Atencio.

They brought along with them the following firearms one M4A1 Carbine Caliber 5.56mm, one Bushmaster Caliber 5.56mm, one HK 416 Caliber 5.56mm, one Elisco M16A1, one M14 Rifle Caliber 7.62mm, two Caliber 50 Sniper Rifle, two RPG and two RPG Ammunitions.

Maj. Gen Uy, once again expressed his optimism that the latest surrenders of BIFF members will continue to entice the remaining others. He also assured that the JTFC will remain steadfast to its mandate in the campaign to end violate extremism. — 6th Infantry Division – Kampilan
