Following President Rodrigo Duterte’s televised public address, where he said he would tap the military to lead the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines because he could not trust local officials in the distribution, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is gearing up for the possible distribution of the vaccines by December, its spokesperson said Friday.

In a press statement, AFP spokesperson Marine Maj. Gen.

Duterte, during his public address on Friday, said that the military and police would also be prioritized once a COVID-19 vaccine becomes available.
