Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (MBFI) recently turned over 5,000 N-95 masks and 54,000 pairs of surgical gloves to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Present at the turnover ceremony held at the General Headquarters Canopy Area in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City were AFP Chief-of-Staff General Felimon T. Santos Jr., MBFI Executive Director Nicanor L. Torres, and Assistant Program Manager Hero Hernandez.
The said medical supplies will be utilized by soldiers in the frontlines of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The AFP maintains a dynamic partnership with the MBFI in acknowledging the efforts of the military in protecting the people against threats to their safety and freedom,” AFP public affairs chief, Navy Capt. Jonathan Zata said.
The MBFI also has an ongoing program dubbed as the Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos which recognizes public servants such as soldiers who deliver outstanding service that promotes positive change in communities.
Expressing gratitude to the MBFI, the AFP said that its sincere initiative to help serve as inspiration for soldiers as they augment government forces in the country’s current battle with coronavirus.
